What you always wanted to know

I saw this cute little questionnaire going around on facebook and I thought I would do it for the blog. You ask your kids a bunch of questions about you and share what they had to say....
Just to give you some perspective on their answers...Ella is 5 and Catherine is 3 1/2.

1. What is something mom always says to you?
Ella: I love you
Catherine: clean up

2. What makes mom happy?
Ella: listening
Catherine: when we love people
3. What makes mom sad?
Ella: not listening
Catherine: not listening
4. How does your mom make you laugh?
Ella: Tickling me
Catherine: tickle me
5. What was your mom like as a child?
Ella: nice
Catherine: tiny
6. How old is your mom?
Ella: 31
Catherine: 30
7. How tall is your mom?
Ella: the same size as daddy
Catherine: this tall (holding up her pinkie finger)
8. What is her favorite thing to do?
Ella: read
(oh yeah, she knows her mom!)
Catherine: clean up
(hmmm...really Catherine? I must be a cheerful cleaner for her to think I like it that much. Or maybe that's why she makes so many messes - because cleaning up is my favorite thing!)
9. What does your mom do when you're not around?
Ella: clean up (hmmm...if that were so the house would be a lot cleaner.
Catherine: work
(does playing on facebook and reading blogs count as work? If so, she's right on!)
10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for?
Ella: teaching
(I'm really surprised that she would think that after I recently starting to work with her on some reading basics. I am so not a teacher!)
Catherine: cooking in the kitchen (don't I wish!)
11. What is your mom really good at?
Ella: reading
(again, right on. I will admit it, I am a good reader. not something to be super proud of but I'll take it!)
Catherine: exercising
(Catherine must have a good long term memory, because she can't have any short term memories of me exercising!)
12. What is your mom not very good at?
Ella: raking leaves (why Ella, why? I really think I'm a good raker)
Catherine: cutting trees down
(hmmm...I don't know what to say about this, except, I imagine she's right.)
13. What does your mom do for a job?
Ella: be Cinderella
(I think that must be referring to Cinderella picking up after everyone and working and not Cinderella all dolled up going to the ball.)
Catherine: work
14.What is your mom's favorite food?
Ella: chicken
Catherine: soup
15.What makes you proud of your mom?
Ella: washing the dirty dishes
Catherine: when I do silly things
16. If your mom were a cartoon character, who would she be?
Ella: Sister Bear of the Berenstain Bears (this really cracked me up because she answered right away without hesitation)
Catherine: Brother Bear...and I would be really scared of you (she likes the books, but of course is scared of the characters, so yes, she would be scared of her mom!)
17. What do you and your mom do together?
Ella: read together
Catherine: play rough house
(I think she got me confused with daddy on this one)
18. How are you and your mom the same?
Ella: we have some of the same jeans
Catherine: blue eyes
19. How are you and your mom different?
Ella: She has a diff. finger nails than me
Catherine: I’m lower than her

20. How do you know your mom loves you?
Ella: because she snuggles with me a lot.
Catherine: because she is proud of me.

21. What does your mom like most about your dad?
Ella: I don’t know, but she’s always mad at him
(Oh. My. What can I even say about this? Matt asked her this questions when I was gone so I didn't get to see how she said and if she was messing around. But wow. I thought about asking her for another one, but I figured I'd keep it real! No judging please! Even if she wasn't serious (I did talk about it with her later) I still better watch myself!)
Catherine: When she got married to him
(oh thank you - I have no idea what she really meant by that but it just sounds so much better...)

22. Where is your mom's favorite place to go?
Ella: The Outlets
(I hardly ever go, perhaps I talk about wanting to go?)
Catherine: To a Party (that's me, the party girl!)

I love these things! What those little ones will say, ya know? I laughed aloud at a few of them. Love the Bernstein bear character suggestion. You are such a good mommy...reading to your kids so much and modeling a love of reading to them!

Your girls are just too, too cute! I LOL-ed about the "mad at Daddy" part...kids are funny. Their perceptions of things are so much different than ours!

This cracks me up. It's funny how they can be so right on, and then so creatively off base too!

Oh goodness. I can guarantee that one of my kids would have said I am always mad at Derek...shameful, yes, but I know it's probably true.

What can I say? Life is stressful sometimes.

Cute post. Your girls are really super cute and it shows how much they adore they're equally as cute mommy!

And being a good reader is totally something to be proud of!

And kids only observe what they see so I'm sure you must do some sort of cleaning up on a pretty regular basis!
